CREMER Thermoprozessanlagen GmbH
Auf dem Flabig 6 , D - 52355 Düren-Konzendorf
CREMER is a world leading manufacturer of thermal process plants and industrial furnaces for a wide range of processes and process temperatures (400°C < T < 2500°C) under various process atmospheres for the field of iron powder metallurgy in general, CIM, MIM, AM or the production of high-performance oxide or non-oxide ceramic components.
The applications of the CREMER thermal process plants range from de-binding and sintering to a wide range of thermal treatments for ferrous and non-ferrous powders and high-performance ceramics. These include calcination, carburization, carbonization, pyrolysis as well as customized engineering processes under various furnace atmospheres (e.g. H2, 02, Endo-gas, N2-mixtures and air). In addition, the CREMER product portfolio also includes HIP and CIP plants for either AM applications or other processes where non-porous near net-shape parts are required.
CREMER stands for Made-in-Germany, continuity, flexibility and reliability. It is a middle-sized family business with 120 employees, a high production depth and extensive know-how in plant engineering and process engineering. CREMER provides outstanding 24/7 global customer full-service support out of its own workshop including turnkey installation, commissioning, training classes, spare part service and maintenance.

Chair and Institute for Materials Applications in Mechanical Engineering (IWM), RWTH Aachen University
Augustinerbach 4, 52062 Aachen, Germany
The Institute for Materials Applications in Mechanical Engineering (IWM) at RWTH Aachen University focuses on application-relevant research in materials technology for metallic and ceramic materials and their composites. A particular focus is on powder technology, whereby the manufacturing processes from powder to the component are considered. Research concentrates on understanding the effects of process parameters or different manufacturing processes on the microstructure, mechanical properties and reliability of components. The focus of PM processes is on the HIP technology, additive manufacturing, powder pressing and various sintering processes (e.g. field-assisted sintering). Both experimental investigations and numerical simulations are used as solution approaches, allowing the powder metallurgical processes to be investigated holistically. Also the development of the digital twin in powder metallurgy plays a major role in research.
The IWM exhibits a significant experience in handling of various materials, like tool steels, high alloy stainless steels, cast iron, PM-steels, hard metals, intermetallic materials and oxide ceramics.
The Institute offers services of material testing, damage analysis and FEM calculations.
